Just occasionally, there are some things that can be labelled “Ronseal” devices – that is,they do exactly what it says on the tin. The Remington Power Dry 2000 hair dryer is exactly that. It dries your hair quickly and efficiently and there’s not a lot more to say.
This being a review, however, let’s add some more anyway. This product is nice and cheap – cost me £12 on Amazon UK – and doesn’t come with loads of gadgets, gizmos and add-ons.
What you get is the dryer itself, complete with five foot (or thereabouts) power cord, a “concentrator” (plastic funnel that slips over the end to deliver the air on a more compact form) and that’s it.
There are three heat settings, though we think you’ll only notice any warmth from the top one; the other two seemed pretty ineffective. A shame, especially since the second setting was marked “Eco” but we think Eco means cold here!
Likewise there are two strength settings but the top one is the only one worth using, in our opinion, as it gets a nice draught going whereas the Eco setting again is a bit wishy-washy.
There’s an additional button buried in the curve of the handle-meets-blower, which gives you a full strength blast of cold regardless of your switch settings but we don’t know why you’d want that.
Essentially, if you’re not fussy about hair drying – you simply want some warm air blown at your head (or another anatomical parts) at a reasonable pace and for a reasonable price, we can think of no reason why you wouldn’t be pleased to spend just over a tenner on the Power Dry 2000.
If you’d like to buy one, please do so on this link: https://geni.us/DE_RemingtonHairDryer as we get a bit of commission from Amazon UK for that which keeps this website going. Thank you!
